What does the color of the sky augur? The sweep of the wind? the curve of the grass?
Aeromancian, you have to watch for a sign. Filled with luminous phenomena, the sky is a space of epic action when it is filled with water mist, ochre dust and blood. At the same time depopulated and reflection of a human tragedy presumed or noted, the atmosphere is suffocating, tempestuous. We are the only beings in this night, this fog of sulfur or fog of coral sand. Thus in similar gaseous landscapes and post-A(tomic) storms, our species would have learned successively to walk, to flee and to kill.
In a pictorial expression related to impressionist practices of repetition of landscape motifs with variations in atmosphere, F. Conti in this series declines a Japanese (Shinto) environment of windswept grass. According to him, it is a meditative creative process, almost therapeutic, especially in the brushing of atmospheric perspectives - effects that obviously reflect on us, the contemplators.
"The repetition of a motif is not its copy. I don't want my paintings to be perfectly smooth and I try to preserve the effects of depth and brilliance that their imperfection brings.
Young graduate of the prestigious French School of Fine Arts Beaux-Arts de Paris, Fabien Conti is one of those artists whose universe captivates and fascinates.
In his large scale oil paintings, the artist questions the responsibility of human beings in global warming. Depopulated and reflecting a human tragedy, both predicted and observed, the atmosphere that surrounds the artist's paintings is suffocating, tempestuous, calm. Meditative artworks that cannot leave us unconcerned!Read more
