Atang Tshikare
Atang Tshikare is a South Africa-born self-developed multidisciplinary artist who began Zabalazaa Designs in 2010.
Atang Tshikare began Zabalazaa Designs in 2010. As a self-developed multidisciplinary artist. He has worked on various elements including leather, fabric, wood, metal, concrete, ceramic, wood, plastic, canvas and paper. His work is a combination of African inspired patterns and line drawings with a contemporary edge which he creates using various mediums.
Atang has exhibited in Cape Town, Johannesburg, NY, Miami, Amsterdam, Dubai, Switzerland and Germany. He has done illustrative and paint work for numerous companies including adidas Originals, MTV base, Migrate Magazine, Chimurenga magazine, Belvedere Vodka, Cornetto, Cotton On, Puma, Plascon and L’Oreal, Nandos, MrPriceHome to name a few.
He has been exhibited at Toffie Festival 2012, Design Indaba 2012, Southern Guild 2012-2016 exhibitions, feature designer at 100% SA, THAT art fair, Cape Town art fair, Design Discourse (Austrian collaboration), Germany, New York, Design Days Dubai, Design Miami, Design Basel.
Some of his work has been featured in Elle magazine, Elle Decoration, VISI magazine, House & Leisure, Wanted, Mail & Guardian, Financial Times, Sowetan, Times newspaper, Pin-up magazine (LA/New York), QUER (Austria), SABC 1 & 2 News, Hectic 99, CNBC Africa, CNN African Voices, Expresso Show (SABC 3) and more.

Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is a public not-for-profit contemporary art museum that collects, preserves, researches and exhibits 21st-century art from Africa and its diaspora; hosts international exhibitions; develops supporting educational and enrichment programmes; encourages intercultural understanding, and guarantees access for all.
The galleries, spread over several floors, are dedicated to a large cutting-edge collection gallery; exhibition galleries; and Centres for Art Education, Curatorial Training, Performative Practice, Photography, and the Moving Image.
Zeitz MOCAA was established through a partnership between the V&A Waterfront led by CEO David Green acting on behalf of Growthpoint Properties Limited and the Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF), represented by the Public Investment Corporation Limited (PIC) and collector Jochen Zeitz.
The building was reimagined through a design by the acclaimed London-based Heatherwick Studio.
